A little more information on bespoke dress design.

So I want to explain a little bit about how bespoke dress design works!

So first up, although the title states 'dress design' I can do other things- skirts, tops, trousers, playsuits, jumpsuits, leotards, pretty much anything! I also cover all aspects of occasions, so everything to do with Bridal- wedding dresses, bridesmaids, mother of the bride or groom. One i do a lot is guest of wedding- you don't want to show up to a wedding, where you've been planning your outfit since the previous year and some girl is in the same dress as you, so it makes sense to design something different and unique. Also Weddings are about the only excuse these days to get completely glammed up- so why not do it right!

Other than bridal there are prom dresses, evening dresses and party dresses! Proms have changed so much over the past 10 years, everything is more competitive and more Glamourous, and all the girls will talk about what they are wearing the entire year leading up to it- what more could you ask for than to tell the other girls you designed your own dress!

Another thing to emphasise is just because your going for something different, doesn't mean it needs to look like something from the last Lady Gaga tour! (though if that's what you want then I'm happy to do it) if however you are looking for something that is simple but fits your shape perfectly then that's what you'll get.

If you know exactly what your looking for that's great but if you don't have a clue but just know you want something different well that's good too- remember I'm a qualified designer so that's my job to design you a dress!

So after this process, once we have decided on your design, the toile stage comes next. A toile is a mock of your dress. It gives me a change to check the fit and gives you a chance to see what your dress will look like. At this stage you can tweak parts of the design to make sure it's exactly as you imagined.

After this the final garment gets fitted- again just to check all aspects of the finished dress and then it's your to take home!

Being a bespoke dress designer is a completely different thing to a general dress maker. We don't have set patterns to pick from- we design the garment, make the patterns from scratch specifically to your measurements, make the toile to check the fit and then the final garment is made to give a completely bespoke experience!

So there it is, a little bit more info about the process of bespoke dress design!
